• Spectacular Lecture cum Demonstration by Kalaimamani Dr.M.Narmadha, Renouned Violin Artist of AIR, Chennai and UGC fellowship Awardee on “Significance of Hindustani and Classical Music to Modern Life” was organized on 16th February 2018.

• Special lecture delivered by Dr.K.John Kumar, Professor, BHC, a member of National History Congress, on 27.02.2018 on the topic  “Contribution of Contemporaneous History to Education”.

Student Achievements

• On 20.2.2018 and 21.2.2018 Rashmi Varsha, II year B.Sc.,B.Ed(Physics) participated &presented a paper on the topic “Construction of Knowledge” organized by Azim Premji Foundation Symposium at Pondicherry University.

• B.Sc.B.Ed.,/B.A.B.Ed Trainees gave demonstration on ICT Skills at Govt.Hr.Sec.School, Vallam, Tirumalaisamudram.

• B.Sc.B.Ed., / B.A.B.Ed Trainees conducted an awareness programme on Malaria, Dengue and other communicable diseases. at Govt.Hr.Sec.School,Vallam. Tirumalaisamudram.

Extra – Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities

• B.Sc.B.Ed & B.A.B.Ed students organized a programme on the significance of mother language towards the celebration of “International Mother Tongue Day” on 21st February, 2018.

• B.Sc.B.Ed & B.A.B.Ed students organized a programme towards “World Tourism Day” on 29.9.2017 under the chairmanship of Dr.N.Seshadri.

• B.Sc.B.Ed & B.A.B.Ed students organized a programme towards “Senior Citizen Day” on 01.10.2017 under the chairmanship of Dr.N.Seshadri.

• One day emboss painting workshop conducted by Dr.S.Brindha, on 17.10.2017 for the students of B.Sc.B.Ed / B.A.B.Ed (Integrated Programme) and certificates were issued to the participants.

• On 12.2.2018   students of   First year B.A/B.Sc., B.Ed went to Vallam Girls Higher Secondary School and gave awareness about Health and Hygiene.

• On 13.2.2018   students of   Second year B.A/B.Sc., B.Ed went to Vallam Girls Higher Secondary School and gave awareness about the ICT tools in education.

• The Four Year Integrated B.Ed., students organized on one day Symposium on International Women’s day (8-3-2018) under the chair person ship of Dr.N.Seshadri and stressed the need for Empowerment of women.    

• B.Sc.B.Ed & B.A.B.Ed students  went to field visit accompanied by  2 members of staff on 06.03.2018  ,  to Poondi Matha Temple , Kallanai , Mummoorthigal Mani Mandapam  in sengipatti,  as part of curriculum.

• Special lecture was delivered by Dr.K.Parameswaran, Assistant Director of A.I.R, on 22.03.2018 on the topic “Linguistics and knowledge systems”.

• Second year B.Sc, B.Ed (Physics) Rashmi Varsha got 2nd prize in drama and 3rd prize in mono acting in Hindi lits events of Kuruksastra 2018 conducted by SASTRA Deemed to be University.

• Second year B.Sc(Maths)B.Ed M.Keerthana and her team Maathi yosi got 2nd prize in SASTRA Tamil Sangam Koothupatrai in Kuruksastra 2018 conducted by SASTRA Deemed to be University.

• B.Sc.B.Ed & B.A, B.Ed Students organized a programme towards “world theatre day” on 27.03.2018 under the chairmanship of Dr.N.Seshadri.

• Special lecture was delivered by Dr.E.Ramganesh, professor and Head and coordinator, Dept .of Educational Technology, on 28.03.2018 on the topic “Education Aims in changing scenario”

• Second year B.A(English)B. Ed T.kavya & M.Gokulapriya got second prize in THETA 2018 in the cluster optica(Apocalyse)conducted by SRC campus

• B. Sc, B. Ed & B.A, B. Ed students inaugurated various clubs on 05.04.2018 under the chairmanship of Dr.N.Seshadri

1. Teachers’ Day was celebrated at the main campus on 05.09.2018 and nine retired school teachers of Thanjavur and Trichy Districts were honoured by Dr.S.Swaminathan, Dean Planning and Development.

3. A spectacular Lecture cum Demonstration on Bharathanattiyam by Kalaimamani Revathi Muthusamy, a renowned classical dancer delivered on February,23rd,2019.

1. To commemorate the completion of 80th year Public Service Broadcast of All India Radio, Trichirappali a combined function was conducted by SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur with AIR, Trichy on 27th, February,2019. A Science Talk show by eminent professors of SASTRA followed by Classical music Programme was organized.

Student Achievements

1. Rashmi Varsha of III year B.Sc.B.Ed(Physics) participated in NIT Festember 2018, Hindi Lits events.

1. On 11th August, 2018 Tamil Club (Tamil Sangam) and Arts Club (Canon) performed various arts like Classical and Western Dance, Drama, Vocal Music and Debate to the students of B.A/B.Sc, B.Ed.

1. Third year students of B.A/B.Sc, B.Ed went to two days Observation at Blossom And Thamarai International School, Thanjavur on 24th and 25th August,2018.
2. Four Year Integrated B.Ed., students of I and II Year went to Field trip accompanied by five staff members on 25th August,2018 to Bragatheeswara temple, Saraswathi Mahal Library, Thanjavur Maratha Palace and Royal Palace Museum as a part of curriculum.

1. On 29th August,2018 first year students of B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed went to Chellappanpettai High School and gave awareness about the personal hygiene and cleanliness.

1. On 30h August,2018 Third year students of B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed went to Chellappanpettai High School and gave awareness about Science Initiative.

1. On 31st August,2018 Second year students of B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed went to Chellappanpettai High School and gave awareness about Civic Education.

1. On 7th September, 2018 English Club (English association) and Science Club (Super Nova) conducted club activities to the students of B.A/B.Sc, B.Ed.

1. Four Year Integrated B.Ed., students of Second and Third year went for School Internship from 4th January to 12th February.
2. BSc.B.Ed & B.A.B.Ed students participated in “Kalloori Galatta” , a live broadcast Programme on 7th January,2019  by AIR, F.M, Trichy by Dr.N.Seshadri.
3. Showing the tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on January, 30 Gandhi Movie was showed to all four Year Integrated B.Ed., students.
4.   Four Year Integrated B.Ed., students of first year went to Aachampatty, Sengipatti for Grama Seva on 9th February,2019.
5. Inaugurated ‘SASTRA Kuyil Thoppu’, Tamil Forum on 22nd, February,2019.

1.  On behalf of Women’s day celebration, Sila nerangalil sila manithargal, Jayakanthan movie was showed to four Year Integrated B.Ed., students on March 8th, 2019.
